Family Literacy Project
The Idaho Statesman is committed to improving family literacy in our community. Thats why we
have launched our family literacy program in conjunction with our Newspapers In Education program.
Below you will find several different resources to help you improve family literacy and student
learning. We have activities for parents and children ages K-8, as well as tips for reading with your
children, how to help your child learn at home, additional Web site resources, and information on
workshops offered through the newspaper to train parents and educators on using the newspaper as a
literacy resource. Please let us know if you can think of any additional information we can put in
this Family Literacy section that other parents may want to use.
